In reply to Jessica S. If you're already in China, I would go to a store. If you haven't arrived yet and you're only traveling through China, I would pre-purchase a SIM card to make things easier.

In reply to Lee. My pleasure, Lee! Thankfully, it's much easier to get a temporary SIM card in Hong Kong at the airport. You can get one that will work for 6 weeks (although, technically, your China SIM card will work in Hong Kong as well).

I have a China mobile SIM, on the 88rmb package. I constantly travel to China but was wondering how it works if let’s say the month finishes and I wait 15 days to recharge. Will that mean the next month of data starts when I recharge? Will I have to recharge every single month to keep using the number?
